Pixel-art portrait of Yushir in headphones and glasses, with a black cat perched on his shoulder.

Hi, I'm Yushir. I build small websites and tools, and then I try very hard to break them.

Small websites and tools, built and tested.

I've spent over a decade finding where software breaks. In the evenings and on weekends, I build useful things for people and small businesses: a simple site, a quote calculator, a little app that replaces a messy spreadsheet.

INVENTORY

Things I've built

Mzansi Tools home page on a phone: a search box asking what you need to work out, above a list of everyday calculators.
LIVE · PUBLIC

Mzansi Tools

Free South African calculators for fuel, electricity, home loans, public holidays and more. Every figure links to its official source and date, and every calculator is covered by automated tests.

The wedding planner's Plan screen on a phone, with a quick-add box and tasks grouped by theme.
PRIVATE · SAMPLE DATA SHOWN

A wedding planner for two

A private, phone-first app for planning our own wedding: tasks, appointments, suppliers and documents in one place. It saw real use, every day, right up to the big day.

The rental tracker on a phone, listing rentals with status, price per month and quick call or WhatsApp links.
PRIVATE · SAMPLE DATA SHOWN

A rental-hunt tracker

Built to make a house hunt less chaotic: save listings, sort and filter them, and track who you've called and what you've viewed, instead of juggling links in a chat thread.

SIDE QUESTS

What I build for fun

Not for hire, just for the joy of it. This is where most of my learning happens.

UNRESOLVED on a phone: amber monospace text on black, opening in a dark, dead municipal system.
STORY GAME · IN PROGRESS

UNRESOLVED

A text adventure in the old DOS spirit: a cyberpunk-noir mystery told in ASCII, with jokes on top and something sadder underneath.

Wendan's Willow: a pixel-art medieval village with a forge, farm, inn, willow tree and palace courtyard.
VILLAGE SIM · IN PROGRESS

Wendan's Willow

A tiny medieval village that runs itself. The residents work, eat, chat and remember, and the stories come from the systems, not a script.

me-blobe: a smiling purple blob in a cosy room, with Feed, Clean, Play, Medicine and Sleep buttons.
POCKET PET · IN PROGRESS

me-blobe

A little pet that lives in the browser. Feed it, clean it, play with it, and it slowly grows up.

ABILITIES

What I can build for you

A simple website

A clear, fast site that tells people what you do and how to reach you. Works well on any phone, even on slow data.

A calculator or quote tool

Let customers work out a rough price or answer before they call you, so the conversation starts further along.

A small app for one job

Bookings list, stock count, job tracker: one thing done well, in place of the spreadsheet everyone is scared to touch.

A site check-up

Already have a site? I'll test it the way I'd test software for a living, and give you a plain-English list of what's broken, slow or confusing.

Probably not a fit

I keep things small so I can do them well. I'm not the right person for online shops or anything that takes payments, apps with lots of user accounts, "the next big platform", rush jobs, or round-the-clock support. If that's what you need, I'm happy to point you somewhere better.

QUEST LOG

How working together goes

  1. STAGE 1

    You tell me the problem

Not the solution, the problem. Use the box below, or WhatsApp me.

  2. STAGE 2

A short chat, then a written plan

What I'll build, what I won't, how long it should take and what it costs. Site check-ups are R1,800, and new websites start from R6,500.

  3. STAGE 3

    I build in small steps

You see real progress every week or so, and can steer before anything is set in stone.

  4. STAGE 4

    Tested, handed over, explained

I test it properly, show you how it works, and you own it. Most small projects take a few weeks.

HOW I BUILD

AI writes code fast. Making sure it works for you is the real job.

I build with AI coding tools, and I'm upfront about that. It's a big part of why a small project doesn't need to cost a fortune. But code that runs isn't the same as code that does what you need, every time. Over ten years in software quality has taught me where things quietly go wrong, so I decide how it's put together, I test it properly, and I don't hand over anything I wouldn't trust myself.

SAVE POINT

Tell me what you need

Three quick questions, so we both know early whether I'm the right person.

1. What do you need?
2. Will people need to log in or pay online?
3. When do you need it?
